Growing up, Sam struggled with reading and was diagnosed with dyslexia in third grade. Those challenges shaped her into the compassionate educator she is today, fueling her commitment to supporting students who face similar difficulties. She understands firsthand that school isn’t always easy, and she strives to make learning feel accessible and empowering for every child.
Sam has now participated in six Bookbag Tours trips, with Kenya being her very first. She took that trip solo, at the tail end of the pandemic, and it proved to be a life-changing experience. In Kenya, she met inspiring educators, visited incredible schools, and discovered her confidence as a traveler. Many of the people she met on that journey have since become her travel companions—and close friends.
To date, Sam has explored six of the world’s seven continents. Next December, she’ll complete her seventh when she joins Bookbag Tours for an unforgettable adventure in Antarctica!
