Julia, a former school librarian, teaches fourth grade and is the instructional technology coordinator at an independent PK-8 school in Philadelphia. She has been traveling with BBT since 2023 and gravitates towards trips that include outdoor adventure. Julia’s school has a longstanding cultural exchange program with two schools in Costa Rica and sends middle schoolers on a 10 day trip there each spring. She first fell in love with Costa Rica when she chaperoned 35 7th graders in 2018 and is excited to be traveling there with grown ups this time! She loves how traveling reminds her of how she is part of something so much bigger and loves bringing her experiences back to the classroom as part of her teaching and growing young global citizens.
