Dr. Krissie Butler currently serves as Department Chair of Modern Languages at Anderson University. Prior to this position, she has served as a visiting professor of Spanish at Furman University, an Instructor of Spanish at Indiana University-Bloomington, and as an assistant professor of Spanish at Asbury University. She completed her PhD at the University of Kentucky in Hispanic Literature with a focus on representations of Fidel Castro. Dr. Butler is currently devoted to the teaching of the Spanish language in the university across all levels. In Spring 2023, she developed and led a study abroad course taking 14 students to Spain to explore Spanish history, culture, and art in Madrid, Grenada, Toledo, and Cordoba. She has traveled to Spain many times including time spent living in Valladolid where she studied and taught at the Centro de Idiomas.
