Explore one of the most beautiful countries in Europe. Explore Finland with other fellow administrators! This country is known for the craziest events, vibrant cities and much more. From November 8th- 15th, 2019, travel throughout Finland and enjoy different workshops including Finnish education system and National Core Curriculum in Action and Driving for School/District Wide Pedagogical Development, Case PBL. Along with communicating with Finnish students to personally understand their education system!

Workshop: Finnish education system and National Core Curriculum in Action.

In past half decade Finland has gone through an educational reform. In 2016 one of the most innovative curriculums came into effect for basic education. In this workshop you will explore the basis
of Finnish education system and study some of the key elements of the National Core Curriculum and its skill- based approach.

Workshop: Driving for School/District Wide Pedagogical Development, Case PBL

As a teachers your core responsibility is to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences for your students. As a leader your core responsibility is to create an environment where such learning experiences can be created. At the heart of such environment trust. In this workshop we will explore what trust means from the perspective of a leader and a teacher. We will use implementation of student centered and engaging PBL case for district wide pedagogical development work.

In this workshop you will have a chance to meet with a group of Finnish middle school / high school student. You will have a chance to pick their brains on what it means to be a student in Finland.

Day 6 A Day in the Life of a Finn

Day in a life of a Finn: Sauna, Salmon and Sausages

- This day will take you to Kuusijärvi, https://www.cafekuusijarvi.fi/english/, a small recreational center just 30 drive away from the city center of Helsinki. You will have a chance to go to a real Finnish sauna or just enjoy the beautiful scenery by having a coffee of strolling around the lake. After this we will stroll through the forest

to Petteri's house where he will prepare a traditional Finnish lunch including freshly smoked salmon, sausages, Carelian pies and salad and refreshments.
